The Boy's Soccer... Game 6

It was a tie this week 2-2. What I'm more interested in is the fallout (or hopefully lack of) from hubby confronting the coach after the game.

Again, we watched his subbing of players during the game, and again, it was the same 3-4 kids that sat while the others played the entire game. Our boy sat for half of the first half and almost all of the second half. He played a whopping 5, yes FIVE, minutes of the second half.

After the game was over, hubby politely asked if he could talk to the coach, so they moved away from the pack of kids & parents. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but hubby told him that we've been watching and he needs to do a better, more fair job of subbing the kids in and out. The coach's response was "if you want my job, go into the office over there, and sign up to be a coach". I don't know if he's heard the complaint from someone else & he just didn't want to hear it, or if he's just that big of an ass. Hubby politely said he would have signed up to be a coach if that's what he wanted. We just want the kids to get more equal playing time. Coach didn't want any of it and walked away, so hubby did exactly as coach said. He marched into the office to file a formal complaint. He got the president of the board on the phone and told him our complaints (subbing of players and coaching in Spanish). He explained that he tried to have a civil conversation about it with the coach. Well, not really to our surprise, hubby was told that he was about the 5th person to complain about our coach. Coach will be getting a phone call from the office, if he hasn't already.

It will be interesting to see how Tuesday's practice unfolds and whether or not he tries to be an ass to our boy. You can bet your ass we'll be watching with eagle eyes!!
